China's coal prices rose slightly last week: MOC

According to Ministry of Commerce (MOC), China's coal prices up 0.2% on the month last week(May 6- May 12). Among them, the prices of coking coal and anthracite were 766 yuan/mt and 896 yuan/mt, up 0.5% and 0.4% respectively compared with last issue. And the prices of thermal coal were 595 yuan/mt, the same as last issue. The demand for coal from downstream power plants has declined at present. It is expected that coal prices will remain stable in the near future.

China's steel prices fluctuated slightly last week. Among them, the prices of channel steel were 4,191 yuan/mt , down 0.4% compared with last issue. The prices of welded steel pipe were 4,268 yuan/mt, up 0.4% compared with last issue. And the prices of high speed wire rod and deformed steel bar were 4,263 yuan/mt and 4,187 yuan/mt, the same as last issue. It is expected that steel prices will stabilize and decline in the later period.
