Forum on coal-to-gas promotes clean heating

The first summit forum on coal to gas in Guanzhong, the central part of Shaanxi province, was held on Tuesday in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China, to further promote clean heating in the area.

More than 20 senior officials, experts and scholars, and more than 200 guests from the heating industry attended the forum.

They supported transformation and upgrading of clean heating in Guanzhong, promoted its development of coal to gas use, and make suggestions on how the advantages of Guanzhong and even Shaanxi can meet national competitiveness in energy saving, emission reduction and clean heating development.

Wang Qi, director of the China Gas Heating Professional Committee, said at the forum that whether it is coal to gas or coal to electricity, clean heating involves not only the heat source, but also the system used.

“A heating system is a huge and complete system, with all parts interconnected. If the heating industry wants to realize transformation, upgrading and expanding markets by means of coal-to-gas policy, it must make full use of the whole industry to handle existing and possible problems in all aspects,” Wang said.

At the expert symposium after the keynote speech, the guests held in-depth discussions on the market trend of coal-to-gas conversion in 2019, the trend of household gas heating, the significance of promoting low nitrogen condensing wall-hanging furnaces to reduce building energy consumption, and the future development of wall-hanging furnace enterprises.

They offered suggestions for promoting coal-to-gas conversion and energy savings in the region, emission reduction and clean heating in the Guanzhong area and in Shaanxi province as a whole.

At the forum, Shaanxi Barrel Thermal Energy Technology Equipment Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the Fuping Charitable Association, jointly donated and installed wall-hanging stoves and heating equipment to the veterans of the Anti-Japanese War in Fuping, a county of Shaanxi province, to pay tribute to the national heroes.

The coal-to-gas conversion in Guanzhong area is a microcosm of China's coal-to-gas conversion and an important part of the country's energy-saving, emission reduction and clean heating program.
