Inner Mongolia coal price rose slightly in February

According to Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission, the settlement price of thermal coal at mine mouths and the purchase price of thermal coal in Inner Mongolia both increased slightly in February.
 
Data showed that the average settlement price of thermal coal at mine mouths in the region was 213.37 yuan/mt in February, up 0.3% on the month, but down 2.9% year on year.
 
Among them, the average settlement price of lignite at mine mouths in the eastern region was 184.32 yuan/mt, up 0.75% on the month and up 4.72% year on year. The average settlement price of thermal coal at mine mouths in Ordos was 250.00 yuan/mt, the same as last month, but down 16.36% year on year.
 
In February, the average purchase price of thermal coal in Inner Mongolia was 212.64 yuan /mt, up 0.32% slightly on the month and up 0.73% year on year.
 
Among them, the average purchase price of thermal coal in the eastern region was 199.91 yuan/mt, up 0.53% on the month and up 19.45% year on year. The average purchase price of thermal coal in the western region was 222.82 yuan/mt, up 0.17% on the month but down 9.46% year on year.
 
According to the Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission, industry insiders pointed out that as the weather picks up, the daily consumption of thermal coal decreases, and the demand for coal weakens. Moreover, the coal mines in the main producing areas will resume production one after another, and the supply keeps increasing, and the supply and demand structure of the market tends to be loose. In addition, the recent import of Australian coal is limited, and the import coal policy is still unclear, which will also affect the price trend of coal in Inner Mongolia. Based on a comprehensive analysis, it is expected that the price of coal in Inner Mongolia will stabilize a slight decline in March.
