Shaanxi withdrew and shut down 8 coal mines in 2018

Industry and Information Technology Department of Shaanxi Province issued the Announcement on the Completion of the Elimination of Backward Production Capacity in Shaanxi Province in 2018, which was released on January 22, showing that Shaanxi Province has closed and exited 8 coal mines in 2018 and eliminated backward production capacity of 1.83 million tons/year.
 
Among them, Weinan withdrew and shut down 3 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 630 thousand tons/year. Yulin withdrew and shut down 3 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 900 thousand tons/year. Yan’an withdrew and shut down 1 coal mine, with a withdrawn capacity of 150 thousand tons/year. And Hancheng withdrew and shut down 1 coal mine, with a withdrawn capacity of 150 thousand tons/year.

In July of 2018, Shaanxi Provincial Government had said that Shaanxi would withdraw and shut down 21 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 5.81 million tons/year.
 
Shaanxi Province produced a total of 600.233 million tons of raw coal in 2018, up 30.6351 million tons or 5.38% year on year.
