Hubei withdrew and shut down 96 coal mines in 2018

According to Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Hubei Province successfully withdrew and shut down 96 coal mines in 2018,with a withdrawn capacity of 7.17 million tons/year.
 
Among them, Yichang withdrew and shut down 38 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 3.03 million tons/year. Enshi withdrew and shut down 41 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 2.97 million tons/year. Jingmen withdrew and shut down 6 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 360 thousand tons/year. Xiangyang withdrew and shut down 3 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 210 thousand tons/year. Xianning withdrew and shut down 7 coal mines, with a withdrawn capacity of 540 thousand tons/year. Shiyan withdrew and shut down 1 coal mine, with a withdrawn capacity of 60 thousand tons/year
 
In January of 2017, Hubei had said that within two years, all coal-producing enterprises in the province would shut down and withdraw from the coal production industry regionally.
