Lyuliang hosts green coal seminar

China Economic Information Service and the government of Lyuliang city, which is the largest coking coal production base in Shanxi province, hosted a seminar on green development in the coal chemical and coking industries in the city's Xiaoyi county, on Nov 25.
 
In the form of keynote lectures and discussions, the seminar aimed to explore ways to boost environmentally-friendly and innovation-driven development of the coal chemical and coking industries and promote energy collaboration among the countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
 
At the seminar, more than 30 experts on the environment and the coal chemical and coking fields from the National Development and Reform Commission, China University of Mining and Technology, German Choren Industrial Technology Group, and Argus Media Group shared their experience and opinions about their various areas of expertise and demonstrated some of the latest cutting-edge technological achievements.
 
They reached a consensus that faced with challenges - technical and mechanical innovation, international partnerships, construction of quality infrastructure and market vitality are essential for the transformation of the traditional coal chemical and coking industries.
 
The seminar, which representatives of over 100 domestic companies attended, also saw agreements signed for 16 projects worth 27.77 billion yuan ($3.99 billion). The projects covered new materials, new energy, and the new coal chemical and trade sectors.
