According to Tai Hang Daily, due to the carryover effect caused by the increase in coal prices in the third quarter of last year, Jincheng's coal prices increased by 26.2% year on year in the first and second quarters of this year. With the gradual weakening of carryover effect, the coal prices rose by 11.1% year on year in the third quarter, which was 15.1 percentage points lower than that in the first and second quarters. Affected by the disappearance of last year's carryover effect and the lack of new incentive to increase prices, the cost prices of coal products fell by 0.08%in October.
From the perspective of new price increases, the new price increase factor for coal prices totaled 3.5% in the first and second quarters. The new price increase factor was 0.2% in the third quarter. Due to the traditional heating season and the rising prices of downstream coal chemical products, the new coal price rose to 1.5% in October.
At present, the new price increase incentive is insufficient, indicating that the downward pressure on the coal industry has increased.
