According to National Bureau of Statistics, China's total raw coal production was 310 million tons in October, up 8% year on year, and 2.8 percentage points faster than that of last month. Raw coal production has maintained a trend of accelerated growth since August. The cumulative volume of raw coal production was 2.9 billion in the first ten months, up 5.4% year on year.
The production of the three major coal producing areas has been accelerated. Among them, coal production of Inner Mongolia rose 12.9% year on year and 1.6 percentage points faster than that of last month. Coal production of Shanxi Province rose 13.3% year on year and 8.3 percentage points faster than that of last month. Coal production of Shaanxi Province rose 14.0% year on year and 4.1 percentage points faster than that of last month.
China imported 23.08 million tons of coal in October, up 8.5% year on year. It was -7.3% year on year in the last month and the growth rate has changed from negative to positive since October. The cumulative volume of imported coal was 250 million in the first ten months, up 11.5% year on year.
At the beginning of November, the composite transaction price of coal with 5,500 kcal/kg at Qinhuangdao Port was 584 yuan/mt, up 3 yuan from the beginning of October. The composite transaction price of coal with 5,000 kcal/kg at Qinhuangdao Port was 530 yuan/mt, up 7 yuan/mt. And the composite transaction price of coal with 4,500 kcal/kg at Qinhuangdao Port was 472 yuan /mt, up 7yuan/mt.
