Erlianhot Port imported 1.44 million tons of coal from Jan.-Oct.

According to Erlianhot Municipal People's Government, Erlianhot imported 1.44 million tons of coal in the first ten months of 2018 and the total volume was 0.32 billion Yuan, up 41.5% and 74.6% respectively.

Since last year, coal demand of downstream coal-using industries such as thermal power, steel and so on has increased continuously. However, coal production capacity was restricted, leading to the increase in import. Meanwhile, coal prices of Inner Mongolia had obvious advantages, resulting in the increase of enterprises’ import willingness, and drove the increase of coal import at Erlianhot Port.
