Brief introduction of China's coal production and supply from Jan. to Sep.

According to statistics, the coal output of coal enterprises above designated size reached 2.59 billion tons in the first nine months of 2018, up 5.1% year on year.

According to China's customs statistics, the country imported 229 million tons of coal in the first nine months, up 11.8% year on year. Among them, the import of coal was 25.14 million tons in September, down 7.2% year on year. The cumulative coal export volume was 3.45 million tons in the first nine months, down 47% year on year.

The country's coal shipment by rail was 195 million tons in September, up 7.5% year on year. And the cumulative volume was 1.77 billion tons in the first nine months, up 9.8% year on year.

At the end of September, the country's key power plants stored 76.57 million tons of coal, which is available for 22 days.

National Bureau of Statistics data displayed that the capacity utilization of coal mining and washing industry was 70.1% in the third quarter of 2018,up 1.1 percentage points from the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the capacity utilization of coal mining and washing industry was 71.4% in the first three quarters , up 4.0 percentage points from the same period of last year.
