China's September CPI up 2.5%, PPI up 3.6%

China's consumer price index, the main gauge of inflation, rose 2.5 percent in September year-on-year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics released Tuesday.

China's producer price index, which measures the cost of goods at the factory gate, rose 3.6 percent year-on-year in September, the bureau reported.
