Menghua railway enters into the home stretch

The first pole of the electrification of the railway from Mengxi to Central China, which was constructed by Wuhan Electrification Bureau of China Railway Group , officially set up at Yan'an East station on 9th September. It means that the construction of the entire Menghua Railway entered into the home stretch.
Menghua Railway is the first national coal transportation line with the heaviest axle load, the longest line and the widest coverage in China. It passes through 7 provinces including Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi to Ji'an Station of Jiangxi. The total investment is estimated at 193.04 billion yuan. The total length of the line is 1,814 kilometers, including 711 bridges and 229 tunnels. Design speed of Menghua Railway is 120 kilometers per hour. The whole line adopts the fully enclosed and three-dimensional design.
It is reported that the length of Hubei section of Menghua Railway is 330.6 kilometers. It enters into Hubei province from Nanyang of Henan province, passing through three cities including Xiangyang, Jingmen and Jingzhou. From June of this year, Hubei section of Menghua railway has entered into the track-laying stage, and the track laying is expected to be completed in January of next year.
