China's coal prices were mixed last week: MOC

According to Ministry of Commerce (MOC), China's coal prices were down 0.2% from previous week in last week (May 11th- May 17th). Among them, the prices of thermal coal were down 0.4% from previous week; the prices of anthracite (2#, lump coal) were basically unchanged; and the prices of coking coal were up 0.1% from previous week. With the increase in electricity consumption, thermal coal demand is expected to rise in the later stage and coal prices are expected to increase.
 
China's steel prices were up 0.4% from previous week. Recent steel demand has rebounded, inventory continued to decline, the late steel market price is expected to rise.
