Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia produced 581 million tons of coal until March

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's raw coal output in March 2020 was 337.26 million tons, up 9.6% year-on-year. In March, the average daily output was 10.88 million tons, 2.73 million tons more than that in January and February.
From January to March 2020, China's cumulative raw coal output was 829.91 million tons, down 0.5% year on year, and down 6.3% from January to February.
In March 2020, four provinces produced more than 10 million tons of raw coal per month, or 263.363 million tons of raw coal totally, accounting for 78.09 percent of the country's output. Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and Xinjiang provinces produced 94.794 million tons, 89.061 million tons, 57.102 million tons and 22.406 million tons, respectively.
Except Inner Mongolia, the raw coal output of the four provinces showed an increasing trend in March. The biggest growth was in Shaanxi Province, up 37.3%, Xinjiang up 16.6%, Shanxi up 12.3% and Inner Mongolia down 0.1%.
From the accumulative data, from January to March in 2020, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi were the largest producers. Among them, Shanxi's cumulative raw coal output was 222.852 million tons, accounting for 26.85% of the national total output, up 1.1% year-on-year. The cumulative output of raw coal in Inner Mongolia was 221.437 million tons, accounting for 26.68% of the country's total output, down 9.1% year on year. Shaanxi's cumulative raw coal output was 136.681 million tons, accounting for 16.47% of the country's total output, up 20.5% year on year. The three provinces and regions produced 580.97 million tons of raw coal from January to March, accounting for 70.00% of the country's raw coal output.
